How Shinhan Financial Group works with startups
Shinhan Futures Lab, in its 12th cohort, selected 46 startups from a record 800 applicants, 15 more than the year before. It runs a nurturing track with mentoring and support for global expansion, and a collaboration track for joint business planning and proof-of-concept projects with Shinhan companies; the 2026 cohort also added a track for young founders and expanded its global track from 6 to 13 startups. Selected companies get group collaboration development, office space, potential fund investment and a demo day. By the end of last year the program had made a cumulative 150.3 billion won in investment, surfaced 351 business collaborations, and produced 29 "baby unicorn" companies.
