How JLR works with startups

The Open Innovation Programme, launched April 2022, is a venture-clienting operation run through a network of Innovation Hubs; the fifth opened in India in 2024. It has engaged over 2,500 startups and produced 33 formal collaborations, including Allye on second-life batteries from JLR PHEVs and BEVs. InMotion Ventures, established 2016, is the investment arm, writing pre-seed to Series A cheques in climate, industrial and enterprise tech as a co-investor.
