How Tata Sons works with startups
Tata Sons has run TSEC annually since 2012 in partnership with a leading Indian business school, inviting early-stage social enterprises and promising ideas with a proof of concept to enter a national challenge. Shortlisted teams get mentorship and can advance to a grand finale, where top finalists win cash grants of up to Rs 6 lakh and become eligible to pitch for seed capital support of up to Rs 1 crore from a rotating seed fund. Tata Sons is the anchor sponsor, having committed Rs 25 lakh to that fund for an initial three-year period.
