How SSEN Transmission works with startups

SSEN Transmission runs a standing online proposal route where external companies, including startups, submit ideas against its innovation priorities, with submissions reviewed by its in-house innovation team. Many resulting projects are co-delivered with external technology partners and are financed in part through a national grid-innovation funding scheme rather than SSEN's own commercial budget alone, so the commercial endpoint is a funded pilot/collaboration rather than a guaranteed purchase.
